Colorado musician Crokomoko has just released a new track called “U Can Be New Again”, and it’s one of those pieces that doesn’t ask for much- just your time and maybe your attention, if you feel like giving it.
The track is calm and minimal, built from soft, rising melodies, ambient layers, and the kind of nature sounds that feel more like memories than recordings. It’s not flashy or dramatic. In fact, that’s kind of the point- it moves slowly, breathes deeply, and lets you sit with it for a while.
There’s something refreshing about how it doesn’t try to be more than it is. It’s peaceful, thoughtful, and gives you a little room to breathe- like stepping outside after a long day or finding a moment of stillness you didn’t know you needed.
Crokomoko has always worked in that space between ambient, experimental, and electronic music, and this new release feels like a continuation of that- but maybe even more stripped back and honest. You can tell he’s not chasing trends. He’s just making music that feels good to make.
“U Can Be New Again” is out now via Balloon Head Tapes and streaming on Bandcamp, where you can support the artist directly. If you’re into music that gives you a break instead of more noise, this is worth your time.
