Valid has shared a new documentary showcasing his tour throughout Eastern Europe with DJ Head, called ‘PLACES’. A mainstay coming from Detroit’s hip-hop scene, ‘PLACES’ finds Valid connecting with the legendary DJ Head, as well as a range of notable musicians coming from the Balkan region, for a soulful, entertaining journey through Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Slovenia, and more.
Presented in collaboration with Serbia’s Valternativa Records, ‘PLACES’ follows Valid and DJ Head as they travel through Eastern Europe, enlightening the viewer on local cultures as well as performing vivid sets for enlivened fans. Wherever they go, they build authentic connections, bridge cultures, and experience a shared love for the art of hip-hop.
‘PLACES’, directed by Katarina Radmilović, blends Detroit’s raw, soulful sound with the unique musical styles of the Balkans. Valid and DJ Head weren’t just there to perform- they came to learn, collaborate, and share. On stage, the energy was electric. Fans knew the lyrics. Local artists jumped in with verses of their own, mixing traditional Slavic sounds with classic boom-bap beats.
